Grid.ID- Academy Awards atau Oscar telah mengumumkan daftar penerima nominasi penghargaan untuk tahun ini.
Hebatnya, dua bintang Asia yakni Steven Yeun dan Youn Yuh Jung berhasil menyabet nominasi di Academy Awards 2021.
Steven Yeun masuk nominasi Aktor Terbaik, sedangkan Youn Yuh Jung dinominasikan untuk kategori Aktris Pendukung Terbaik.
Nominasi itu diraih kedua aktor-aktris berkat akting mereka yang memukau di film Minari.
Masuknya Steven Yeun dan Youn Yuh Jung dalam daftar nominasi mencatatkan sejarah baru di ajang Academy Awards.
Mengutip Allkpop, Selasa (16/3/2021), Steven Yeun menjadi orang Asia-Amerika pertama yang mendapat nominasi Aktor Terbaik.
Sedangkan Youn Yuh Jung menjadi aktris Korea Selatan pertama yang masuk nominasi Aktris Pendukung Terbaik.
Tidak hanya membawa para bintangnya meraih nominasi, film Minari juga berhasil menyabet empat nominasi lainnya.
Di antaranya Film Terbaik, Sutradara Terbaik, Soundtrack Asli Terbaik, dan Screenplay Original Terbaik.
Sebelum mengantongi nominasi Oscar, Minari memang sudah menarik banyak perhatian kritikus film sejak ditayangkan.
Film garapan Lee Isaac Shung ini juga menyabet nominasi di Critics’ Choice Awards, Independent Spirit Awards dan the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
