Grid.ID - 'But Daddy I Love Him' adalah lagu baru keenam di album studio kesebelas Taylor THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT.
Lagu ini pertama kali diumumkan pada 5 Februari 2024 bersamaan dengan seluruh daftar lagu untuk album tersebut.
Melansir Elle.com pada Sabtu (20/4/2025), lagu baru ini diduga mengungkap isi hati Taylor Swift saat berpacaran dengan Matty Healy yang kemudian ditentang netizen.
Pacaran singkat Taylor Swift di musim panas dengan Matty Healy membuat marah beberapa penggemarnya karena vokalis The 1975 ini memiliki beberapa kontroversi.
Sementara itu, ada pula dugaan bahwa judul lagu baru ini mengacu pada film Disney tahun 1989, The Little Mermaid.
Di mana putri duyung Ariel harus menyerahkan suaranya demi bisa bersama orang yang dicintainya.
