Alice Cooper, Slash hingga Lars Ulrich Mengaku Kehilangan Sosok Vinnie Paul

Setahun setelahnya sang adik, Dimebag tewas ditembak di atas panggung.

Sempat terpukul oleh kematian sang adik, Vinnie Paul akhirnya tetap menghidupi musik metal yang ia cintai.

Di akhir hayatnya, ia mendirikan band Hellyeah, bersama vokalis Mudvayne Chad Gray dan gitaris Noface Tom Maxwell.

"Hari ini dunia tidak hanya kehilangan seorang legenda namun juga seorang manusia sejati yang hidup demi mengguratkan senyum pada siapa saja yang ia temui," tulis Eleven Seven Music, label tempat band Paul, Hellyeah bernaung.

Obituari itu ditutup dengan "Semoga ia dipersatukan kembali dengan saudaranya (Dimebag) sebab kita semua akan melanjutkan warisan mereka."

Banjir ungkapan duka juga hadir dari rekan sesama musisi.

Alice Cooper menyebut Vinnie Paul memiliki dampak yang tak terukur pada skena musik rock dan metal.

Sementara Dave Mustaine (vokalis Megadeth), Chris Adler (drummer Lamb of God), Lars Ulrich (drummer Metallica) dan Slash mengaku kehilangan sosok Vinnie yang hangat dan begitu berpengaruh bagi mereka.

Terribly saddened by the news of Vinnie Paul’s passing. Vinnie was a beloved fixture in the rock and metal communities and we will miss seeing him out on the road. His impact on heavy music is immeasurable. Rest In Peace Vinnie, condolences to your family, friends and fans.
