Bulan Juni 2018, Rara Sekar sudah menyelesaikan S2nya di jurusan Antopologi Budaya di Victoiria University of Wellington.
Istri dari Ben Laksana tersebut mendapat beasiswa penuh dari pemerintah Selandia baru untuk melanjutkan pendidikannya di sana.
This year’s birthday is a wee bit special as it’s also the day I finally receive my master’s degree in cultural anthropology. So this morning I woke up to my supervisors’ messages asking me to wake up/check my email ???? I asked Ben to read the email first... after seeing him smirk, I finally got the guts to read the result myself. _ All the frantic weeks full of tears and stress prior to my thesis submission, as well as the anxiety-ridden days and nights awaiting for the result finally paid off. Finally, no more nightmares, I can now sleep in peace. _ Thank you, once again, to everyone who has been so supportive for the past two years: @benlaksana, my loving family, my good friends both in Wellington and Indonesia — you know who you are, my wonderful supervisors and amazing lecturers @vuwanth, and of course, the beautiful Aotearoa. _ Where to next? As much as Ben and I want to continue our studies in the near future, I think it’s good for us to lay-low for awhile and enjoy whatever home has to offer for the time being. I guess a masters degree could help me go places (or maybe not haha especially in anthropology), but whereever I go, I’ll try my very best to always keep the late Pramoedya Ananta Toer’s words in mind: “Kau terpelajar, cobalah bersetia pada kata hati.” / “You the educated, try to be faithful to your conscience.” ❤️
